I had a very busy and productive weekend. Not quite finished up everything on my list but I made some progress!
The Foyer is 95% complete. After looking at it again the next day I noticed a few spots that need touching. So I aim to finish that once and for all this week.
I’m really stubborn so it basically took me this long to finally give in and hire someone to come in and do the cutting in around the ceiling and window frames for me, but I painted the rest myself by attaching my roller brush to the end of one of those long industrial sized poles. I’m really happy with the colour which is Stonington Gray by Benjamin Moore and I think it really brings out all the beautiful colours in the slate floor and compliments the light coloured maple floors as well.
We upgraded the baseboards and painted the spindles on the staircase Snowfall White (as we are with all the trim & doors throughout the house).
For about 2 years, we hunted high and low to find the perfect light fixture (for the perfect price). Finally, after seeing their flyer in the paper and taking a visit one Saturday afternoon, Eldon Lighting in Oshawa came through for us and we were finally able to replace the light bulb that was our sole source of light in the entry.
